Scam / Fraudulent Phone Calls

We have recently been made aware that a number of customers have received phone calls from fraudsters who are claiming to be calling from Aviva. It is believed to be an increasing issue occurring across a number of industries including financial services at the moment and is not limited to Aviva customers.

If you receive an unexpected / unsolicited phone call from someone who claims to be calling from Aviva, it’s important to always be extra vigilant particularly when asked to provide information over the phone.

When and how might we contact you?

In the event that we need to contact you via telephone or email, we will only ever contact customers during our office / contact centre opening times which is between the hours of 9:00am and 8:00pm Monday – Friday (ex Thursdays).

All emails sent from us will only ever come from an aviva.com email address.

What information might we request on a phone call to you?

If we were to make an unsolicited / unexpected phone call to you, we would never ask you to confirm or provide your bank account information, credit card number or any form of password.

What should you do if you receive a phone / email you believe to be fraudulent / suspicious?

If you receive a phone call from someone claiming to be calling from Aviva and you suspect it is fraudulent, do not provide any information - including personal, policy, financial / banking or confidential information to any caller. You should terminate the call immediately.

If you receive an email and you don’t believe it has come from us, avoid responding, providing information or clicking on links contained within.

Reporting your concerns

If you are concerned about the authenticity of a call or an email you have received and you suspect it to be fraudulent, report it to us right away. We can confirm to you whether or not the phone call or email was genuine.
