Hibernian team up with Best Doctors
9th May 2007
Hibernian Life & Pensions this week announced that it has formed a partnership with US-based Best Doctors, Inc. to offer its customers access to the pooled knowledge and experience of the world’s best medical experts, specialists, researchers and academics.
Best Doctors, an independent company founded in 1989 by doctors affiliated with Harvard Medical School in the US, is to be offered free to all Hibernian customers who take out a new serious illness policy. The benefit of this policy enhancement is clear. If a customer, or their child, is diagnosed with a serious illness they now have the option to get an expert medical review of their diagnosis from one of a panel of 50,000 specialists worldwide, all of whom have been selected by Best Doctors as the top in their specialist field.
Gareth McQuillan director of marketing and product development at Hibernian said:
“The benefits are obvious. The patient receives an expert evaluation of their diagnosis, plus a recommendation of best treatment options, all without leaving home. The Best Doctors service is designed to support, not replace the treating doctor, by supplying leading edge information on complex and rare conditions; information that can improve and even save lives.”
A claim does not necessarily have to be made under the customer’s serious illness policy in order for them to avail of Hibernian’s Best Doctors service.
Dominic Howard, Best Doctors Director, UK and Ireland said:
“We are delighted to have formed a relationship with Hibernian. There is such an obvious fit between their product and our service, making a really compelling proposition for new Hibernian customers.’’
