These optional covers are available with our car insurance for an extra premium.

Step-back no claims discount

This means that even if you make a claim, you can keep part of your no claims discount:

• A 50% discount becomes 20%
• A 40% discount becomes 10%

Protected no claims discount

This lets you keep your full no claims discount if you have no more than 2 claims in 3 years.

To be eligible for a protected no claims discount:

• You must have a 50% no claims discount
• You must first opt for the step-back no claims discount (see details above)
  

Windscreen cover

Can be added on to both Comprehensive Value cover and to third party fire & theft cover.

Windscreen cover is standard on comprehensive policies.

Reduced or increased policy excess

An option for comprehensive policies only.

You can reduce or increase the amount we ask you to contribute in case of accidental damage.

• Reduce from €300 to €125 (excluding Provisional Licence holders)
• Increase from €300 to €600

 For your Comprehensive Value policy, you can reduce the amount we ask you to contribute in case of accidental damage, fire and theft claims.

• Reduce from €600 to €300
• Reduce from €600 to €125 (excluding Provisional Licence holders)

Premium protection

This provides up to €250 a month to cover the cost of your car insurance if you're unemployed or suffer a disability.

Some time restrictions apply:

• Disability cover is available 60 days after you take out this premium protection
• Unemployment cover is available after 90 days

If you're not in full-time employment and are aged 18 or over, you can receive personal injury cover instead.

JourneyWise accident cover

JourneyWise provides cover if anyone named on your policy experiences accidental bodily injury.

Legal expenses

This option gives you:

• Access to a free personal legal advice helpline
• Access to a legal advisor if you need to defend a motoring prosecution
• Coverage for professional costs and expenses that may arise if you have to make a car accident claim
