Social Media Competition (the “Competition”)
Leinster v Lions
9 May 2026 - Aviva Stadium
Competition Mechanic: Win a pair of tickets to Leinster v Lions on 9 May 2026 at Aviva Stadium. To take part, entrants must comment the correct answer to the question on the social media post on Meta (Facebook and Instagram).
Promoter: The sole promoter of this Competition is Aviva Life & Pensions Ireland DAC having its registered address at Building 12, Cherrywood Business Park, Loughlinstown, Dublin 18, D18 W2P5 (the “Promoter”).
Eligibility Criteria:
In order to enter the Competition, entrants must (i) complete the competition mechanic above before the Closing Date (defined below), (ii) be aged 18 years or over and (iii) be a resident in the Republic of Ireland. The Promoter has 2 pairs of tickets available for the matches. An eligible entrant is eligible to win one pair of tickets to Leinster v Lions 9 May 2026 at Aviva Stadium only.
Two entrants will be chosen at random from eligible entries received before the Closing Date and the entrants will be contacted via messaging on the Meta platform which they used to enter the Competition (either Facebook or Instagram). Only one entry will be accepted per person. Entries received by any other means (including by hand delivery) will be invalid.
The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any entry, which due to a technical error or any other reason, is not received or is delayed. Proof of submitting an entry is not proof that the entry has been received by the Promoter.
Appointed insurance intermediaries (including their employees) and employees of the Promoter are excluded from taking part in this Competition. Applications by organised groups, or applications automatically generated by computer will not be accepted.
Terms of Participation
Entrants are deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions by participating in the Competition and further by accepting any Prize (defined below), the Prize-winners agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
Prize
As above, there are two prizes available to be won, each consisting of a pair of tickets to: Leinster v Lions 9 May 2026 at Aviva Stadium. (together the “Prizes” and each pair of tickets shall be known as a “Prize”). Each entrant shall be eligible to win one Prize only. We will endeavour to give tickets that are seated together but cannot guarantee this. The Prizes are as stated and do not include other costs associated with taking a Prize. No cash will be offered as an alternative to the Prize. The Prize-winners will be bound by the terms imposed by any third parties providing goods and/or services as part of the Prize. The Promoter cannot accept responsibility for the acts or omissions of third parties.
Competition Period
The Competition opens at 10.00 hours on 16 April 2026 (Opening Date) and closes at 10.00 hours on 20 April 2026 (Closing Date). Persons who comment the answer on the social media post before the Opening Date or after the Closing Date will not be considered.
Entries that are not in accordance with the terms and conditions set out herein will be disqualified. We reserve the right to choose an alternative winner in the event that we believe any Prize -winner has contravened these terms and conditions.
Selection of Prize-Winner
The Prize-winners will be randomly selected by a representative of the Promoter from those eligible entries received. The draw will take place after the Closing Date. The draw is final and no correspondence relating to the Competition will be entered into with any entrant, other than as outlined in these terms and conditions.
The Prize-winners will be contacted by the Promoter via private message on the relevant platform by 17:00 on 21 April 2026.
Each Prize-winner will have 24 hours from date of contact by the Promoter to acknowledge receipt of the Prize and confirm if they wish to accept it by providing their full email address and contact details. These details will be used for the sole purpose of fulfilling the Prize. If the Prize- winners fail to do this within the 24 hours, this will result in the Prize being forfeited and the Promoter may at its absolute discretion draw an alternative Prize-winner (s) or dispose of the Prize (s) at its discretion without liability to any entrant.
By accepting any Prize, the Prize-winners agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
The Promoter will arrange for delivery of each Prize to the Prize-winners by email to the email addresses provided by the Prize-winners in accordance with the terms and conditions above.
Miscellaneous
The Prize-winners (and anyone else availing of the Prize) will be bound by the terms imposed by any third parties providing goods and/or services as part of the Prize. The Promoter cannot accept responsibility for the acts or omissions of third parties.
The Promoter reserves the right without notice to amend these terms and conditions, withdraw, cancel or suspend the Competition in whole or part at any time and for whatever reason without any liability to any entrant, Prize-winner or any third party.
The Promoter shall not be responsible for any matter arising out of or resulting from the enjoyment of the Prizes.
The Promoter shall not be liable to any entrant, Prize-winner (or any third party selected by any Prize-winner to avail of the Prize) for any loss or damage howsoever caused, whether direct, indirect or consequential (whether in contract, tort or statutory duty or otherwise) arising out of or in connection with the Competition and/or any Prize other than death or personal injury caused by negligence of the Promoter and/or the Promoter's respective personnel and/or deceit or fraud by the Promoter and/or the Promoter's respective personnel.
The Promoter reserves the right to alter the dates on which the Prize-winners may avail of a Prize should the advertised dates become unavailable for any reason including unforeseen circumstances outside the Promoter’s reasonable control. If any Aviva Stadium fixture is cancelled or does not take place, the Promoter shall have no liability to any entrant, prize-winner or any third party.
The Promoter reserves the right to offer alternative prizes should the advertised Prizes become unavailable for any reason or where circumstances dictate.
The Promoter shall not accept any liability for a Prize that is lost, stolen or damaged (including for the avoidance of doubt, any tickets sent to a Prize-winner via the postal system, which does not reach the intended destination). For the purposes of the Competition the Promoter will only process your personal information as set out in the Data Protection Notice below.
This Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Facebook or Instagram; and those sites shall not be liable in anyway whatsoever to the participants. Furthermore, any questions, comments or complaints regarding this Competition should be directed to the Promoter, not the social network sites.
Definitions
The following terms which are used in the terms and conditions have the following meaning: the term "we" or "us" means the Promoter; "you" "your" or "entrant" means a person who participates in the Competition under these terms and conditions; and "Prize-winner" means each person who wins a Prize under the terms and conditions of the Product Promotion.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These terms and conditions are governed by Irish Law. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with the Competition shall be dealt with exclusively by the Courts of Ireland.
Data Protection and Publicity
This notice explains the most important aspects of how we use your personal information in relation to the competition and what rights you have in relation to your personal information. Identity of the Data Controller: The data controller is Aviva Life & Pensions Ireland DAC, the Promoter of the competition.
What information we collect and what we use it for: We will only make use of and process the personal data of entrants, name and email address, in connection with the competition to the extent and for the time necessary to run this competition and as set out in the terms and conditions.
We may also use additional personal information of the Prize-winner(s), which may include the use of personal data made publicly available online and any statement made by them concerning the competition and/or the Prize for marketing purposes.
We will ask permission to use any photographs that are shared with us for marketing purposes, or may request you to participate in further unpaid promotional activity relating to the competition. Disagreeing to this will have no impact on the Prize-winner claiming the prize.
Legal grounds for processing for the Competition:
The Promoter relies on the legal grounds of consent in order to process the personal data for the purposes of the competition. By entering into the Competition, the entrants are consenting to the processing of their personal data.
Consent can be withdrawn at any time by emailing csc@aviva.com. This will not affect the lawfulness of any processing or activity carried out by Aviva before the receipt of this notification.
Who we share your information with: We may share limited personal information with third parties who provide services to us in relation to the competition and fulfilment of the Prize.
In accordance with the Code of Standards for Advertising and Marketing Communications in Ireland, the name and county of residence of the Prize-winner(s) will be made available, on request, to third parties for a period of one month after the selection. This can be requested by emailing Aviva at csc@aviva.com.
How long we keep your personal information for: Personal information used for the purposes of the Competition may be retained by us for a maximum of 12 months from the Closing Date of the Competition. Data uploaded onto our social media platforms may be retained for longer.
Your rights: You have various rights in relation to your personal information, including:
- the right to request access to your personal information;
- correct any mistakes on our records;
- erase or restrict records where they are no longer required;
- where we rely on your consent as our legal basis for use of your personal data you have a right to withdraw your consent to such use.
