What is Single Trip Travel Insurance?
Single trip insurance is a type of travel insurance that’s suited to those who only take one trip out of the country in any given calendar year. Whether it’s a weekend break to London or a three-week holiday to Thailand, a single trip is classified as leaving and returning to the country only once. With Aviva, you can get instant cover for 30 consecutive days.
Ensure that you’re covered for the entire trip and that you choose the correct dates of travel when purchasing this travel insurance.
What’s Covered with Single Trip Insurance?
Single trip insurance covers everything that standard travel insurance covers including:
- Travel delay or missed departure
- Personal accident and property
- Lost or stolen passport or driving licence
- Personal liability
- Legal advice
If you’re wondering about COVID-19, it’s important to make note of what Aviva provides cover for:
- Before your trip, we’ll cover cancellation if you or someone you’re travelling with contracts COVID. We’ll also provide cover if you’re required to spend time in quarantine and the period is past your original departure date.
- During your trip, we’ll cover repatriation or medical expenses from countries deemed safe by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA). We’ll also cover additional accommodation (room only) should you require quarantine or travel expenses if you’re in quarantine past your departure date.
Cover options created for you
Choose winter sports cover as an optional extra if you plan on taking part in any winter sports abroad throughout the year. Activities covered under this policy include skiing, snowboarding, outdoor ice skating, or tobogganing. Please note that we don’t cover competitive winter sports such as ski jumping, ice hockey, or ski boarding.
Car Hire Excess
Thinking of hiring a car abroad at any stage during the year? Get reimbursed for the excess paid towards repair costs if your rental car gets damaged. Aviva’s car hire excess can be added onto your travel insurance from as little as €2.39/per day or €39.99/ per year.
