Are you sorted for travel insurance?

Travel Insurance

The new year is a time when many of us start planning our summer holidays, be it to chill and unwind for a few weeks, to engage in some adventures or simply to catch up with loved ones who might be living abroad. Others may be preparing to make the most of the remaining winter months by hitting the slopes. Whatever you are planning, it is crucial that you sort out your travel insurance before you set off.

We have many cover options so that you can find the type of cover which is right for you including, Winter Sports Cover, Family Cover, Single Trip Insurance and Multi-Trip Insurance, Backpacker Cover and Business Cover.

You can find out about the cover types we offer on our standard policy such as medical expenses, in-patient hospital expenses and personal liability.

It’s also helpful to know that you can pay a lower premium by opting for our Aviva Holiday Plus Travel Insurance cover. This option applies if you already have Private Medical Insurance that covers overseas Emergency Medical Expenses.

Getting the cover that fits with your needs is essential, so we have put together a list of our travel insurance cover types.

Skis, snow and sport

If you are planning on heading off on a winter destination break, you will need Winter Sport cover. This insurance policy will cover skiing, snowboarding, ice-skating (outdoors) and tobogganing.

Multi Trip benefits

Our Multi Trip annual policy is perfect for those who are going a number of trips throughout the year.  Cover is up to 30 days per trip, subject to a maximum of 90 days in any one period of insurance.

Family cover

Is this your first time away with your wee ones? Our Family cover is great value and enables you to cover up to seven children up to the age of 18 (up to the age of 23 if they are still in full-time education).

Single Trip Insurance

Perfect for someone who is heading off on a single trip, this insurance policy covers one trip up to 30 consecutive days.

Backpacker Cover

Some of us may be planning a once-in-a-lifetime backpacker trip to a far-flung destination such as Asia, South America or New Zealand.  Our Backpacker Cover will give peace of mind, offering security at an affordable price.

Business Cover

This cover type takes the hassle out of business travel, ensuring that you can focus on the work at hand.

You can have peace of mind knowing that if you do have a medical emergency while abroad, our international medical emergency service team is on hand 24 hours a day. Once you make contact, they will liaise with the doctor to make the best arrangements for your care and wellbeing.

Once you have purchased your policy, familiarise yourself with your policy details or refer to our information on Emergency & Claims.

You can get a Travel Insurance quote online by using our step-by-step process for each insurance type. If you have any questions at all, please call us on 1800 940 515. Alternatively, you can contact us on 01 440 1790 and we will be happy to help.
