Blackrock Village Centre and Riley Partner to Normalise Access to Period Products
We are delighted to announce that Blackrock Village Centre, owned by the Aviva Irish Commercial Property Fund, has partnered with Irish period care brand Riley, becoming the first shopping centre in Ireland to provide free period products to both customers and staff.
According to research conducted by Aviva, 82% of people in Ireland who menstruate have struggled to find period products in public venues. The initiative marks a significant step forward in tackling period poverty and improving accessibility to essential hygiene products. Through the partnership, free Riley period products will be available in all Blackrock Village Centre bathrooms, ensuring that anyone who needs them can access them easily and with dignity.
The move follows Aviva's new partnership with Riley to provide free period products across almost 100 bathrooms and key facilities at Aviva Stadium.
The initiative will run on an ongoing basis, with Blackrock Village Centre welcoming over 3 million visitors each year. The partnership also reflects a shared commitment to Irish, sustainable business. Riley, a female founded Irish period care brand designed with sustainability at its core, aligns closely with Blackrock Village Centre’s focus on supporting local, community first initiatives.
