Aviva Ireland Ranked #1 in Ireland’s Best Employers List 2026

How Aviva’s culture, purpose and employee support led to #1 ranking

Aviva Ireland (Aviva) Takes Top Spot in Ireland’s Best Employers List

Aviva recognised as Ireland’s top employer in the Sunday Independent and Statista’s 2026 ranking, based on feedback from 12,000 employees nationwide

Aviva Ireland (Aviva) has come out on top in the Sunday Independent and Statista’s 2026 list of Ireland’s 200 Best Employers.

The ranking is based on an independent survey carried out by Statista, which gathered feedback from 12,000 employees across Ireland on areas such as workplace culture, leadership and overall experience.

For Aviva, this recognition reflects a clear focus on creating a workplace where people feel valued, supported and understand the role they play for customers and brokers.

A strong sense of purpose is a big part of this, with teams focused on supporting customers at key moments in their lives. This helps people stay engaged and see the difference their work makes.

This is supported by Aviva’s role in communities across Ireland, including its Broker Community Fund, partnerships with the Aviva Stadium, the FAI and IRFU, and initiatives like ‘In Her Boots’, which support inclusion and participation in grassroots sport.

These activities help build pride across the business, as employees see the positive role Aviva plays not just through its products and services, but in communities as well. Employees are also encouraged to get involved, with paid volunteering each year giving them the chance to support causes that matter to them.

Aviva also focuses on supporting employees at important moments in their own lives. This includes policies such as equal parental leave, so people can take time to care for their families without worrying about their careers. Senior leaders taking this leave themselves helps show that this support is real and encouraged.

To be named Ireland’s Best Employer is a fantastic recognition, and it reflects how our people experience Aviva day to day. There’s a strong sense of trust, respect and teamwork right across the business, and a huge amount of credit goes to all of our colleagues who bring that culture to life. When people feel supported and engaged, it strengthens how we deliver for our customers and partners.

Declan O’Rourke, CEO of Aviva Insurance Ireland DAC, said:

This recognition highlights the kind of culture we’re building – one where people feel valued, included and connected to their work. There’s a real sense of purpose in supporting customers at important moments in their lives, and that motivates our teams every day. Creating the right environment for our people helps us deliver consistently for customers and brokers, and that’s something we’ll keep investing in.

Barry Cudmore, CEO of Aviva Life & Pensions Ireland, added:

Aviva will continue to listen to employees through regular surveys and open conversations, alongside policies that support people throughout their careers, including flexible working and equal parental leave.

At a time when competition for talent remains strong across financial services, Aviva believes its focus on culture, trust and purpose will help attract and retain the right people.

This recognition reflects the strength of Aviva’s people and the difference they make every day for customers, partners and communities across Ireland.
