How to upload your documents
Where do I go to upload my documents?
All documents can be uploaded through MyAviva, our self-service portal.
How can I register for MyAviva?
Registering is quick and easy, all you need is your policy number and email address to get started.
What documents can I upload?
You can upload your driving licence, your No-Claims Bonus/ Discount, issued by an insurer in the Republic Of Ireland and your jewellery valuation document.
If your No-Claims Bonus/Discount has not been issued by an Insurer in the Republic of Ireland, you can submit it to us by post: Freepost GA 361, Customer Services Department, Block A, Galway West Business Park, Knocknacarra, Galway.

How can I send a document that is not a licence or No-Claims Bonus (NCB)?
If we have asked you to submit a document which is not listed above, you can send it to us by post: Freepost GA 361, Customer Services Department, Block A, Galway West Business Park, Knocknacarra, Galway.
Can I upload multiple documents?
You can only upload one document at a time. When you upload your document, a confirmation message will appear letting you know that your document has been accepted. When successfully uploaded, you can upload your next document.
What information should be visible on your documents?
- All text on your document must be easily readable. Blurred or dark photos may be rejected.
- All four edges of the document must be included.
What file types are accepted?
We accept both PDF and JPG file types. Please make sure they are no larger than 5MB.
Ensure that your No-Claims Bonus/Discount document is not password protected.
What do I do if my PDF is password protected?
You can save this document as a JPG or take a screenshot of it before uploading.
How can I change the format of my file?
If your file is not a PDF or JPG, you can change the format on your computer by choosing the file type when you click ‘Save as’, when saving your file. Or, you can take a clear photograph or screenshot of the document on your phone – this will automatically save the file in JPG format.
What if my document has more than one page?
If your document has more than one page, you should upload it in PDF format.
Error messages
Why am I getting an error message when I try to upload my documents?
Your upload may have failed for a number of reasons:
- Ensure that the file you are trying to upload follows the file format and sizing recommendations above.
- If your file meets this criteria but you are still receiving an error message, please try again later or you can send your documents to us by post: Freepost GA 361, Customer Services Department, Block A, Galway West Business Park, Knocknacarra, Galway.
What happens if my documents are rejected by Aviva?
If your documents are rejected or if we require any more information from you, a member of our team will be in touch with you to explain why and they will outline the next steps.
No-Claims Bonus/Discount (NCB)
How can I get a proof of No-Claims Bonus/Discount (NCB)?
If you have a No-Claims Bonus/Discount in your own name, this will have been sent with your renewal notice from your previous Insurer. This document will detail the number of claim free years that you have earned.
What if I don't have a copy of my No Claims Bonus/Discount (NCB)?
Contact your previous Insurer and ask to be sent a copy.
What do you accept as proof of No-Claims Bonus/Discount (NCB)
We will only accept the No-Claims Discount document provided to you from your previous Insurer.
Can I use a No-Claims Bonus/Discount (NCB) in my partners name?
No, this must be in (your) the policy holders name.
What if the years on my No-Claims Bonus/Discount (NCB) document is different to what I’ve told you when taking out my insurance policy?
If the number of claims free years you have declared is different from the number on your proof of No-Claims Bonus/Discount you should call us on 1850 33 55 77.
What if my No-Claims Bonus/Discount (NCB) has been earned abroad?
If you have earned your No-Claims Bonus in another country, please send a copy to us by post: Freepost GA 361, Customer Services Department, Block A, Galway West Business Park, Knocknacarra, Galway.
Driving licence
Do I need to submit the front and back of my licence/card?
No, we only need a copy of the front of your licence/card.
Thi should include your photograph, category of licence and start and expiry dates.
I have a paper driving licence - is this accepted?
Yes, please unfold your paper driving licence fully so that all three inside pages can be seen.
Make sure that all four edges are visible in the image that you upload.
Other documents
Can I upload other documents?
At the moment, only driving licences, No-Claims Bonus/ Discounts and jewellery valuation documents can be uploaded through MyAviva.

What happens next?
What happens after I upload my documents?
Once your documents have been uploaded correctly, your documents will be reviewed by a member of our team within 2 working days (excluding weekends and bank holidays).
Once verified, your annual car insurance certificate and disc will be made available or issued within 5 days or after the start date of your policy whichever is the later:
Through MyAviva: If you're opted-in to online documentation.
By post: If you're not opted-in to online documentation.
However, if there are any issues with the files you have uploaded, we will contact you to let you know what will happen next.
