Frequently Asked Questions
Who can take part in the Refer a Friend programme?
To refer a friend, you must be an existing Aviva customer with an active Home or Car insurance policy. Your friend must take out a new Home or Car insurance policy with Aviva Direct to qualify.
What does my friend need to do to qualify for the reward?
Your friend must:
- Use your unique referral link, and
- Successfully take out an Aviva Home or Car Insurance policy, and
- The new Car or Home insurance policy is fully in force.
- Once they’ve met these steps, both of you will receive the reward invitation email.
What reward will I receive?
As part of our Refer a Friend offer, both you and the person who referred you will receive a €40 Tesco gift card once the policy set up is completed. This is the only reward option available.
When will I receive my gift card?
- Once the friend you was referred has fully joined Aviva, we’ll send the referrer and the friend an email inviting you to claim your reward.
- After you claim it, your €40 Tesco gift card will be emailed directly to you, typically within a short time. Please check your inbox and spam folder just in case.
Is there a limit to how many friends I can refer?
Yes. Aviva’s refer‑a‑friend reward is capped at 10 successful referrals per year (worth up to €400 in gift cards).
What happens if my friend cancels their policy or does not qualify for an Aviva policy?
If the referred friend cancels their policy before the policy has commenced or before the reward is issued, the reward will not be sent to either party. If the friend does not meet underwriting criteria for a policy, the reward will also not be sent to either party.
