Aviva Refer a Friend Programme

Terms and conditions - March 2026:

These terms and conditions apply to our Refer a Friend Programme. Subject to these terms, when you (the “Referrer”) refer a friend (the “Friend”) to us and the Friend buys either a home insurance policy or motor insurance policy through Aviva Direct Ireland Limited (as defined below), the Referrer and Friend will each be able to redeem a Gift Card worth €40. 

The promoter of this programme is Aviva Direct Ireland Limited, regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland. A private company limited by shares. Registered in Ireland No. 374895. Registered Office: Cherrywood Business Park, Dublin, Ireland, D18 W2P5. 

Refer a Friend Programme :

  1. To redeem this Gift Card the Referrer and the Friend (together referred to as “Customers”) must register for our Refer a Friend Programme via the Buyapowa Ltd website. Once the Referrer has fully registered and accepted the relevant platform terms and conditions, they will receive a unique referral link (“URL”) which they can share with their Friend to allow them to also register on the Buyapowa Ltd website. The Friend must purchase either a home insurance policy or motor insurance policy through Aviva Direct Ireland Limited via website aviva.ie or via our call centre. 
  2. Subject to these terms, and following the purchase of a home insurance or motor insurance policy, Buyapowa Ltd will email the Customers with a URL which will enable the Customers to each select their Gift Card via the Buyapowa Ltd website. Buyapowa Ltd will send the Gift Card to the Customers. If the Friend has purchased a home insurance or motor insurance policy, the selected Gift Card will be sent within 60 days of receiving their first payment. The selected Gift Card will be sent by email to the email addresses that the Customers provided when they registered on the Buyapowa Ltd website.
  3. For this programme to apply, the Customers must comply with the Conditions for Referrals by Existing Individual Members.
    1. Conditions for Referrals by Existing Individual Members:
      • The Referrer must be an existing customer who has a motor insurance policy or a home insurance policy through Aviva Direct at the time the Friend purchases a policy through Aviva Direct.  
      • The Referrer must continue to be a customer up to the time where the Gift Card is due to be sent.
      • The Friend must not currently be, or have in the last 3 months been, a customer of any other home or motor insurance policy underwritten by Aviva.
  4. For this programme to apply, the Friend must:
    1. be at least 18 years old;
    2. have purchased a motor insurance policy or home insurance policy through Aviva Direct;
    3. have purchased the home or motor insurance policy directly from Aviva Direct in accordance with Clause 1 of these terms and conditions and not through any intermediaries;
    4. not have cancelled their home or motor insurance policy at the time the Gift Card is due to be sent.
  5. If either of the Customers fails to comply with these terms, neither shall be entitled to receive a Gift Card.
  6. The Customers personal data will be collected, stored and processed for the purposes of administering and assessing the programme. 
  7. As an existing Aviva Direct Ireland Limited customer, you can refer up to 10 friends each calendar year.
  8. This programme can be used in conjunction with other marketing offers.
  9. Aviva reserves the right to suspend, withdraw, cancel or amend this programme at any time without prior notice.
  10. Applications for home and motor insurance are subject to their normal terms and conditions including underwriting criteria. Aviva reserves the right to decline any application for any insurance policy at its absolute discretion and is not obliged to disclose any reason for rejection. In these cases, the Customers will not be eligible to receive the referral incentive or reward. 
  11. Gift Cards are subject to the retailer’s own terms and conditions. Expiry dates and usage rules apply as set by the retailer. Aviva is not liable for lost, stolen, or unused Gift Cards unless due to Aviva’s negligence.
  12. By participating in this programme, the Referrer agrees that Aviva are not liable for any loss, damage or personal injury whatsoever suffered or sustained in connection with this programme or use of the Gift Card (including but not limited to direct, indirect or consequential losses, loss of profit, income or goodwill), save for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (including fraud, gross negligence or for death or personal injury caused by our or our affiliates’ negligence).
